Boat Harbors
Wrangell operates three full service recreational and commercial harbors and deepwater docking facilities that can accommodate small vessels, transients and larger commercial vessels including tugs, barges, and commercial fishing boats.
Wrangell Harbor (N56° 27.98' W132° 22.80') is located adjacent to the downtown area and has 230 slips for small and large vessels plus a transient moorage float and a deepdraft vessel float accommodating tugs. Tidal grids, hydraulic hoists, airplane float, two fuel docks, work float and net rack are also located within this harbor facility. Power, water, waste oil collection and garbage collection is provided at each float.
Shoemaker Bay Harbor is located approximately 5 miles from the downtown area and has 250 slips for small and large commercial fishing and recreational vessels. There are also tidal grids, an hydraulic hoist, a boat launch and work float located at the harbor. This harbor is part of a larger recreational complex with a park and shelter, tennis courts, playground, tent and RV camping area and trails. Power, water, waste oil collection and garbage collection is provided.
Heritage Harbor is newly constructed located 1 mile from downtown. The new harbor can accommodate transient moorage, large yachts and commercial fishing vessels.
Harbor Master
There is a Harbor Master and three assistants. The Harbor Master office is located at the Reliance Float. Wrangell Harbor Master monitors VHF Channel 16. Vessels over 100 feet should provide the Harbor Department at least 8 hours notice for moorage instructions. Most transients will be moored in Wrangell Harbor at Reliance Float unless advanced arrangements
are made for moorage in Shoemaker Bay or Heritage Harbor.
City Dock
City Dock, also known as the Cruiseship Dock, is a t-shaped dock located at the north end of downtown. The dock face is 405 feet with a breasting pier head of 565 feet and an additional stern mooring dolphin 225 feet off the northeast end of the dock, allowing accommodation of ships +/-950 feet. The inside face permits moorage for smaller cruiseships, yachts, and also contains a u-shaped summer float for charter vessels to load and unload passengers. Cruiseships of larger size can safely anchor in front of the dock and lighter passengers to the summer floats.
Water and electricity are available on the City Dock and Summer Floats.

Community Support Services
The Wrangell Harbor is an easy walk to the downtown area for groceries, hardware, laundry, lodging and retail stores. Additional restaurant, showers and laundry facilities are immediately adjacent to the Harbor. A quarter mile north of Shoemaker Harbor is a lodge, restaurant and laundry facility.
There are two cab companies in town that can provide transportation from Shoemaker Bay Harbor to the downtown area. Both grocery stores and hardware stores will deliver supplies to the harbors on request. Additional public shower facilities are located in the City Recreational Facility.
Two full service fuel docks (Delta Western - Chevron, Wrangell Oil Union 76) are located in Wrangell Harbor. Road access is on Peninsula Street, opposite the harbor from Reliance Float. Both businesses monitor VHF Channel 16.
There are also numerous boat repair and maintenance companies in town providing aluminum fabrication, welding, fiberglassing, woodworking, diesel mechanic and painting among other services. Most brands of outboard engines are supported by local dealers. Commercial assist towing is available and diving for salvage or cleaning needs are available.
