Position Summary

This is a seasonal, temporary, hourly position without benefits. Pay is set at Salary Grade 9, DOE ($17.50/hour - $22.19/hour) . Training will be provided.

Summary of duties: The Cruise Ship Facility Security Officer is responsible for implementing and enforcing security protocols at the Wrangell Port Facility during cruise ship operations. The position monitors and controls access to secure areas, conducts routine security patrols, and supports safe vessel arrivals and departures. The officer works closely with cruise line security personnel, port staff, and public safety agencies while providing professional assistance to visitors and passengers.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid Alaska Driver’s License required
  • Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) required
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and stand or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work variable hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on cruise ship schedules
