Right to Protest and Public Hearing
PUBLIC NOTICE
to Lease Borough Owned Property
As per WMC 16.10.060, notice is hereby given that a request to lease a Borough-owned property, consisting of approximately 35 acres, described as Lot 2 of Trust Land Survey No. 2018-10, W-2 and W-3 Subdivision for the purpose of of constructing the SEAPA Grid Reliability and Stability Project in Wrangell, has been received from Southeast Alaska Power Agency (SEAPA).
The Planning & Zoning Commission will consider this request at their April 9, 2026 meeting.
Any person wishing to protest this application to lease the proposed Borough owned Property described as:
Lot 2 of Trust Land Survey No. 2018-10, W-2 and W-3 Subdivision (approximately 35 acres)
...must file a written protest with the Borough Clerk, no later than April 8, 2026 at 4:00 PM.
Written protests may be emailed to clerk@wrangell.com or delivered to 205 Brueger Street, Wrangell, AK 99929. Any such protest shall state the reason(s) for the protest in detail.
Public Hearing: During the Regular Assembly meeting of April 14, 2026, at City Hall, beginning at 7:00pm, in the Borough Assembly Chambers, there will be a Public Hearing, followed by action from the Assembly to approve or deny the lease of Borough-owned property to SEAPA.

Before the Regular Assembly meeting on April 14, 2026, there will be a Presentation by Structure from 6:00pm to 7:00pm in the Borough Assembly Chambers at City Hall, for the following item:

- A RESOLUTION of the Assembly of the City and Borough of Wrangell, Alaska, approving the FY 2027 Sales-Tax Free Days
- A RESOLUTION of the Assembly of the City and Borough of Wrangell, Alaska, approving the Land-Lease to Southeast Alaska Power Agency (SEAPA)
