Public Notice - Channel Construction/Scrap Metal

Chanel Construction will no longer be accepting scrap metal, free of charge at the former Mill property beginning April10th 2023. April 3rd-April 9th Chanel construction will be loading up the last of the scrap metal from Wrangell to ship out. The drop off site during April 3rd-9th is located at 6.3 Mile Zimovia Highway at the former Mill property. Hours of operation during this time will be from 8am to 5pm. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this service while it is in operation.
Starting April 10th scrap metal will need to be disposed of at the Wrangell Transfer Station located on 3rd Ave. Aluminum is the only metal that will continue to be free of charge. Mixed metals or anything besides aluminum will be charged a drop off fee of $18 per yard of material.
Any type of scrap with oil or gasoline (for example cars) will not be accepted at either location. If oil and/or gasoline has been drained from the item, that scrap metal can still be brought in for drop off. Additionally, for cars, please remove rubber tires before dropping off.
