2021-12-21 Snow Removal Public Notice
Snowfall and Removal
PUBLIC NOTICE:
Tuesday, December 21st, 2021 (12:30pm) Snow is expected to continue to fall until later this evening. Currently roads are slippery and hazardous. Please avoid travel if possible and exercise caution when on the roadways.
Public Works will be doing a community wide clean-up for snow removal beginning at 2:00am on Wednesday December 22nd. If possible, please park vehicles off roadways to provide better access for snow removal.
Be advised that removal of snow from sidewalks is the responsibility of property owners as per municipal code section 13.04.010.
If you have a fire hydrant near your location that is covered it will be helpful to clear snow from around those fire hydrants so that emergency services have access to them in the event of an emergency. As soon as roadways are safe staff will move to begin digging out fire hydrants.
Lastly, please avoid creating large berms in downtown bump outs. This makes the snow removal clean-up more time consuming and creates line of sight hazards for intersections.
Public works is trying to avoid berming up snow in driveways. With this level of snow that is proving difficult with limited places for snow removal. Please be patient with the process.
Thank you for your help!
