NEWS RELEASE – COVID UPDATE

COVID UPDATE
The Wrangell Emergency Operations Center (EOC) was notified today, August 25, 2021, of four (4) new positive COVID cases.
All four individuals are Wrangell residents and are isolating.
Three individuals are close contacts of previous cases.
Two are mildly symptomatic.
One is symptomatic.
One individual recently traveled out of state and is symptomatic.
Several individuals were released from isolation today by Public Health and are considered recovered.
The current number of active cases in Wrangell is twenty-two (22). Please take individual steps to protect yourself and your family.
Isolate yourself if you feel any cold-like symptoms and get tested for COVID-19 as soon as possible.
Avoid crowded places and gatherings; keep social circles small.
Stay at least 6 feet away from people outside of your household.
Have a mask on when you are around people outside of your household – even if you can maintain a 6-foot distance from others.
Take advantage of free, asymptomatic testing and test regularly.
Wash your hands often and disinfect commonly touched surfaces and objects.
