If you would like to be personally alerted by either text or email, you can register for warnings on the NOAA  (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) website  ( http://www.weather.gov/subscribe) .  View alerts, warnings, and weather information on NOAA's National Weather Service page as well  (http://www.nws.noaa.gov/warnings.php)

Remember earlier this year  in January when an earthquake and numerous aftershocks resulted in Tsunami warnings being issued for parts of Alaska and British Columbia.  The U.S. Geological Survey said a magnitude 7.7 earthquake hit 90 miles northwest of Dixon Entrance off the coast of Prince of Wales Island around midnight on January 4, 2013.   It was felt strongly here in Wrangell!!
