Notice to Senior Citizens and Disabled Veterans
FIRST-TIME SENIOR CITIZEN & DISABLED VETERAN PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION APPLICATIONS will be accepted at Wrangell City Hall – P.O. Box 531, Wrangell, AK 99929, until 5:00p.m. March 1 of the applicable year. A drop box is available after hours. Applications mailed must be postmarked by March 1. These forms are also available on our website: http://www.wrangell.com.
First-time Senior Citizen applicants will be required to provide proof of age in the form of a Birth Certificate or US Passport. You must be 65 years old or older as of January 1st of the applicable year to qualify.
First-time Disabled Veteran applicants will be required to provide proof of 50% or more disability.
THE PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION DOES NOT PLACE A LIEN ON THE PROPERTY.
