Wrangell Landfill Closure

The Landfill Closure project consisted of excavation, regrading and compacting existing landfill base materials, course grading, drain rock, CPP storm drain system, ditch grading, force main sewer, sanitary sewer, geosynthetic clay liner, cushion liner, leachate collection and pump system, perimeter road reconstruction, gas vent system, electrical upgrades, surveying, topsoil, vegetative layer and seeding.

Grant funds were received from the State of Alaska's Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC).  The engineering design was provided by R&M Engineers-Juneau, and the construction service was provided by Southeast Earthmovers, Inc.  The project completion date was June 27, 2011.
