Power Outage of 1/10/2020
To All Concerned,
The Community of Wrangell experienced a power outage this morning before 11:00.
We now know that this was a phase to phase fault that occurred approximately 2 to 2.5 miles south of the Wrangell Substation. This section of the powerlines were examined by drone and by aircraft in an effort to identify the problem. No problems were identified, as the fault appeared to clear itself. This is not unusual. The powerlines from Lake Tyee were re-energize just after 2:00 and were noted to be in servable condition.
The City and Community of Wrangell are back on SEAPA supplied power, and our own faithful generators are in their cool-down mode.
