Friends of the Irene Ingle Public Library

join the friends

The purpose of the Friends of the Library is to be an association of persons to promote the Wrangell Public Library as a cultural, educational, and recreational asset of the City of Wrangell. Friends participate in public relations, programs and fundraising. The Friends of the Library is a non-profit entity.

Funds raised by the Friends have purchased library furniture, artwork, outside landscaping, workshops - such as genealogy research, and assisted with special needs of the Library.  The Friends were instrumental in obtaining the necessary funds to construct the Gazebo Park associated with the Library. With support from Alaska Airlines, each year the Friends raffle off two round-trip tickets to anywhere Alaska Airline flies.

For more information about the Friends, or if you would like to be notified of the next meeting, please call 907-874-3535 or email library@wrangell.com. The Friends usually meet the second Friday of each month, except during summer.
