Marijuana Regulations Update for Wrangell

The City and Borough of Wrangell  reviewed State regulations, local codes, and other information to determine if changes to the Wrangell Municipal Code should be made allowing marijuana licensed facilities. The Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed the zoning code for potential modifications to the Zoning Code and recommended code changes.  The zoning code is considered the primary factor for local permitting of a proposed marijuana business.

On October 11, 2016, the Assembly approved Ordinance 926, permitting licensed marijuana facilities in select zoning districts as conditional use permits.
