Administrative Assistant

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

The City and Borough of Wrangell will accept applications for the position of Administrative Assistant – Public Works through Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 5:00p.m.  This is a permanent 20-hour per week position with full medical benefits and prorated retirement and paid leave benefits.

To provide comprehensive administrative support, the Public Works Administrative Assistant plays a critical role in serving as one of the department’s primary interfaces with the public.  The Public Works Administrative Assistant must possess strong organizational and record keeping skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Applicant must be familiar with computer processing software and able to keep records, process invoices, and generate reports.  Requires strong customer service skills.  A general knowledge of accounting procedures is desirable.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and hold a current, valid Alaska Driver’s License.  A High School Diploma or GED is required; secondary business education or training is highly desirable.

Pay range is $16.34 through $23.31 per hour DOE.
