Notice is hereby given that the City and Borough of Wrangell, Alaska will receive sealed bids for the construction of the Wrangell Schools Renovation Three Sites project and the Swimming Pool Roofs Replacement project.

WORK consists of alterations to the three school facilities of the Wrangell School District (Wrangell High School; Stikine Middle School; and Evergreen Elementary School) and associated site work. The scope is entirely repair, replacement, or renovation with no new build area or site elements included.  The project encompasses the Work of the replacement of the Swimming Pool roofs, both flat and sloped roofs.  The estimated construction cost for the Wrangell Schools Renovations Base Bid and Additive Alternates 1, 2, and 3 is approximately $6,200,000.  The estimate for the Swimming Pool Roofs Replacement, identified under Additive Alternates 4 and 5, is approximately $725,000.

A prebid conference for bidders will be held at the Wrangell Capital Projects Department office at 1043 Case Avenue, Wrangell, Alaska on May 28th, 2026 at 10:00AM, local time.  Bidders and other interested parties will have the option to attend by Zoom.  Details are provided in the full solicitation.

Sealed bids will be received by the City and Borough of Wrangell, Post Office Box 531, Wrangell, Alaska 99929, or located at the Borough Clerk’s Office, 205 Brueger Street, Wrangell, Alaska 99929, or by email sent to bids@wrangell.com (password protected), until 2:00 PM prevailing time on June 10th, 2026, and publicly opened and read at that time.    

The Contract Documents are available in electronic format and can be downloaded from the City and Borough of Wrangell website (www.wrangell.com) under the Bids and RFP’s section.  Downloading Contract Documents from the City and Borough of Wrangell’s website requires registration with the Borough Clerk to be placed on the Plan Holders List and to ensure receipt of subsequent Addenda.  Failure to register may adversely affect your proposal.  It is the Offeror’s responsibility to ensure that they have received all Addenda affecting this Solicitation.
