Building the Memorial Together
The Freedom Rock® Veterans Memorial is being built through a partnership between the City & Borough of Wrangell, local veterans, businesses, organizations, volunteers, and community supporters.
Project Budget
The estimated project cost is approximately $54,000. Through grants, donations, in-kind services, and volunteer labor, the community is working together to make the memorial a reality.
Volunteer Opportunities
We're looking for volunteers to assist with:
- Site preparation
- Landscaping
- Historical research
- Story collection
- Community events
- General project support
Whether you have a few hours or several days to contribute, we'd love your help.
Sponsorship Opportunities
Businesses and organizations can support the project through:
- Financial contributions
- Equipment and material donations
- Professional services
- Construction support
- Landscaping and site improvements
Sponsorships help offset project costs including construction of the memorial pavilion, artist travel and materials, site preparation, landscaping, interpretive signage, and community dedication events. Every contribution directly supports the creation of Alaska's first Freedom Rock® Veterans Memorial.
