Tourism and Visitor Services

Travel Wrangell | Are you ready to travel outside the lines?

Tourism is a growing industry in Wrangell as opportunities for visitors increase. Kayaking, hiking, fishing, sightseeing, bear viewing, Stikine River trips, glacier viewing, golfing and Tlingit culture are some of the most popular activities. However there are so many other things that visitors can participate in with out the crowded facilities and jostling of people that can be experienced in the large cruise ship ports.  Wrangell does have small cruise ships call regularly during the summer, but most visitors arrive by Alaska Airlines or the Alaska Marine Highway.

The Wrangell Convention and Visitor Bureau recently undertook a baseline analysis of visitor spending to provide guides for future marketing promotions.  Also recently completed was a Waterfront Development Plan to provide better use and access to the last part of the downtown waterfront.
