Building the Memorial Together

The Freedom Rock® Veterans Memorial has been supported by volunteers, businesses, community organizations, donors, local veterans, and municipal departments contributing time, materials, services, stories, and financial support.

Their contributions have helped with the granite boulder, transportation and logistics, sandblasting, site preparation, concrete work, fabrication, artist support, community events, veteran stories, and other project needs.

Help Us Complete the Memorial

The artwork and initial site work are complete, but there is still work ahead to finish the permanent memorial setting.

CBW continues to seek sponsorships, donations, donated materials, professional services, and other in-kind contributions for remaining improvements, including:

  • Pavilion
  • Memorial benches
  • Interpretive signage
  • Flagpole
  • Security cameras
  • Landscaping
  • Site furnishings
  • Final construction and installation

A $25,000 grant application is pending with the State of Alaska Veterans Affairs program to support the next phase of work. Additional sponsorships remain important because the final award amount is not yet known and several site elements remain to be purchased and installed.

Financial contributions of any size are welcome.
